These sessions are ideal for those new to Christian Mindfulness as a practice, those who wish to RELAUNCH their practice and for experienced practitioners.

Each session opens and concludes with a period of meditation. There is a talk on how to practice mindfulness in the Christian tradition and the opportunity for sharing and reflection.
Retreat at Douai Abbey, Berkshire
Friday 10 - Sunday 12 October , 2025
Friday evening - Sunday afternoon
EVER-PRESENT TO GOD
Learn mindfulness in the Christian tradition including meditation, mindfulness tools and bible examples.
This a practical event where you will learn mindfulness tools that enable you to stay present throughout the day.
Aware that our many thoughts and emotions aren’t necessarily true we can come back to the presence of God at any time.
Meditation develops these tools. It’s also a form of contemplative prayer.
This retreat will gently introduce newcomers to Christian Mindfulness, while enabling those with existing experience to revisit and deepen their practice. Each session blends Scripture, mindfulness tools, and meditation approaches, thoughtfully designed to nurture a deeper personal relationship with God, sustained by gratitude and compassionate living. This event is suitable for those wishing to learn mindfulness or wishing to ‘re-launch’ their existing practice.
Participants are encouraged to engage in discussions, share experiences, and to ask questions as they wish. In addition to the teachers, experienced practitioners will be on hand to support those new to Christian Mindfulness There will also be time for individual reflection and the opportunity for an interview with a teacher to discuss your own practice.
You are also welcome to attend as many of the Divine Offices, sung by the monks in the Abbey Church, as you wish. Some people like to attend them all, while others go to none.
The retreat will be taught by Martin Zetter and Br Christopher Greener, one of the monk’s of Douai Abbey.
We recommend early booking to secure accommodation in the Guest House. If you live nearby and wish to join as a day-participant please indicate this when you book.
